Mission

Our mission is to promote seizure first-aid, epilepsy awareness and empower those who face challenges with this disorder. Through community outreach, mentorship, and education, we will continue to educate others about epilepsy.
Founder

Tia Teamer was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 13. As a teenager, she discovered that epilepsy was misunderstood and many of her peers were not aware of what to do if she had a seizure or the misconceptions of seizures. After a decade of living with this disorder, she created Project Purple Butterfly.
History

Project Purple Butterfly was created in 2019 by Tia Teamer who was diagnosed at the age of 13. Inspired by a mentorship to a young girl with epilepsy who struggled with epilepsy and her own challenged she faced, Tia began Project Purple Butterfly to promote seizure first-aid, break the stigma associated with seizures, and support those with epilepsy and their caregivers.
